Inaugural Kids’ Chance of North Carolina In-Shore Charity Fishing Tournament Held
The Inaugural Kids’ Chance of North Carolina In-Shore Charity Fishing Tournament was held on Sept. 8 in Wrightsville Beach. It raised more than $2,000 to benefit Kids’ Chance of North Carolina, which received 100% of the sponsorship dollars raised.
Brian Kromke, an attorney based in the Wilmington office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog LLP (CSH), organized the event, which he plans to make an annual fundraiser for the nonprofit association.
Founded in 2004, Kids’ Chance of North Carolina, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides educational scholarships to the children of North Carolina workers who have been injured or killed in work-related accidents. It is supported by the national Kids’ Chance organization, and scholarship funds are raised through donations.
Alternative Dispute Resolution of North Carolina led by Captain Frank Prior won both the Flounder and Red Drum Divisions. Hutchens Law Firm led by Captain Erik Bennington won the Spanish Mackerel division. Winners received a trophy and their names were included on a tournament plaque.
The three main event sponsors were Christina Rivenbark and Associates, CSH, and Alternative Dispute Resolution of North Carolina. Support also came from Mediator Scott Hedrick, TechHealth and Compensation Claims Solutions.
